Quite simply, there's a peg on the back of the brake arm that this spring lives on. One end hooks in a hole in the drum (this is INSIDE a spring-sized depression on the drum itself) and the other end of it, once you put the spring under tension, which means wrap it around the peg at least one time, hooks around the bottom-pointing brake arm. In a nutshell, if it looks right, it is.
Trust me, I just went outside and looked at mine.
